How To Download Pictures And Information About Camera Phones

I'm not aware of any prepaid plans that offer an option through the plan to directly download pictures to your computer. I believe that your best bet would be to determine what phone would allow you to connect it to your computer via USB cable and has PC Suite, for example, and then use the phone's software to download the pictures to your computer. For example, you can purchase a special USB cable for the Motorola Razr that will allow you to connect it to your computer. You can charge it that way and also download the contacts and pictures to your computer.

If your cell phone has bluetooth, you can also purchase a bluetooth USB Adapter (Iogear makes one, model GBU221P) that will allow you to use bluetooth to connect to your computer.

To my knowledge, the cell phone providers do not sell the phones with these cables. You would need to purchase the cable from the cell phone company or a third-party provider. I purchased my Iogear bluetooth adapter at Best Buy.

The cell phone providers want you to use their wireless service to send pictures, because they charge you either a monthly fee for a specific amount of kilobytes or typically $0.02 per kilobyte for this service. A pixel (short for picture element, using the common abbreviation "pix" for "picture") is a single point in a graphic image.

The more pixels used to represent an image, the closer the result can resemble the original. The number of pixels in an image is sometimes called the resolution, though resolution has a more specific definition. Pixel counts can be expressed as a single number, as in a "three-megapixel" digital camera, which has a nominal three million pixels.

A megapixel is 1 million pixels, and is used not only for the number of pixels in an image, but also often to express the number of sensor elements of digital cameras. For example, a camera with an array of 2048 by 1536 sensor elements is commonly said to have "3.1 megapixels" (2048 by 1536 = 3,145,728).

Thus the more Megapixels; results in a larger higher quality image. So you would want to go for a camera with a megapixel display that is 1.2 megapixels or higher. Right now, a really good phone would have around a 2.0 megapixel camera or greater. I havent seen any with a megapilel display greater than 3.1 as yet.

My advice is to go for the Motorola V3X, that is a good phone with a 2.0 megapixel camera with flash and 8x zoom. Out of two camera phones the Sony K700i would be my personal choice, however, I think you should also seriously consider the Sony K750i, and I have one and the photos are outstanding. The phone is very easy to use and has all the features you would want on a phone!

I have an unlocked Motorola i855 boost with a Nextel SIM card but the picture id feature wont work with my Nextel SIM card, it works with the boost card. Is there anyway I can reprogram to make this feature work with my Nextel card? The next step would be to check the SIM card from Nextel. This is again assuming that the picture id was working with the boost SIM. The only other reason that I can think of is that the SIM card does not support picture ID. That is even though it is a phone feature it is also network dependant.

Thus if it works with the Boost SIM and not the Nextel SIM then, to me that means that the Nextel SIM card is not correctly programmed. This is however all assuming that you have already set the picture id on the phone.

Fewer Complaints About The Signal Strength

Which cell phone provider has the fewest complaints concerning signal strength? I have T-Mobile now and I am terribly dissatisfied with signal strength. Most of the time when I do have a signal, my conversations are spotty and break up. There are 4 "major" providers, T-Mobile ranks a far 4th in terms of coverage. My thoughts are that either the buildings in the city are blocking your signal or the area is saturated with users and T-Mobile either does not have enough towers and/or is not partnering with Cingular in your area to get you more coverage.

I can tell you that if you are in the city in the eastern part of the US, you will most likely get the best coverage from Verizon. This is their "home" territory and they have built it up quite nicely. If you are in the West, you might want to try Sprint or Cingular and in the South, Cingular then Sprint and Verizon. It's really based on the coverage and the number of towers.

Are particular phone models better at getting a signal? RAZR phone has a very good internal antenna, by design.

All four providers will tell you that they have the fewest complaints and several have done "independent" surveys that they pass off as unbiased, but since they pay for the surveys, they are rarely unbiased. In general, I would have to say that Verizon has the least amount of customer complaints, and if you only need to use your phone in the US and their coverage is good in your area, then they are a good choice. If you need to be able to take your phone abroad, then I would suggest Cingular. Currently, Cingular has the largest US footprint (since the merger of AT&T Wireless) and the most roaming partners internationally.

Because Cingular has a 30 day return policy, you could also try them and see if your experience improves. They are GSM, like T-Mobile, so if GSM is the issue in your area, then you may not have a better experience. Verizon and Sprint have 15 day return policies, so you can also try them without worry, just for a shorter time. I think you are going to be able to tell right away.

I live in the country and use a Palm Treo from Cingular. I cannot get a signal unless I go to a top of a hill on my property. I have a cellular antenna on my car that works when I am on the road but is pretty useless on my property. Is there a way I can put an antenna on my house. Your best chance for gaining a signal in your house will be realized with a Yagi antenna on your roof with a cellular amplifier in the antenna line to boost the signal. The Yagi antenna is a directional antenna that you aim at the tower. There are two Yagi antennae for cellular. One is for the 800 MHz band and the other is for the 1900 MHz band. You would need to contact your cellular company to determine in which band they are serving your location.

Protection From Unwanted Calls To Your Cell Phone

I get so many unwanted phone calls from sales people. How can I get my phone number on a no call list? Personal cell phone users have always been able to add their numbers to the National Do Not Call Registry, it is the same Registry consumers use to register their land lines, by calling toll-free 1-888-382-1222 from the telephone number they wish to register. Registrations become effective within 31 days of signing up and are active for five years. There is no cut-off date or deadline for registrations.

Business-to-business calls are not covered under the Registry.

FCC regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the industry, so most telemarketers are barred from calling consumers on their cell phones without their consent.

I do know that there are programs you can get for mobiles running Symbian OS that will only alert you of calls from a predefined "ok list" only.

Do you know, have cell phone companies started offering cell phone service with parental controls, i.e. through use of something like "Mobile Gaurdian"? We've been looking and while MG's been available for a while we can't find anyone offering it or anything like it and would very much like to do so. We're interested in features such as set numbers that can be called, limits on minutes and messages, web lock/unlock, time on/off and when "off" two or three numbers that could still be used in emergencies. I know there are lots of parents out there who'd pay for options like these, just can't find any providers! The answer: I do not currently know of any company that provides this service.

Is there any way to find out what number called your phone if it shows up as a blocked number, or is there a way to keep blocked numbers from calling you? Unfortunately you can't find out what number called you if the caller is hiding his ID. It depends on your phone model, but go to Settings - Security -Call Barring.

If you find 'incoming calls except from contacts list', this will make you receive only calls from your contacts, but I think all phones only have the option 'incoming calls' which make you receive no calls at all. Anyway, if someone is annoying or threatening you, call your network straight away.

I received a very unclear international call from a person in Sudan using one of our local mobile phone company numbers. When I called back the number, I discovered that it was not yet activated to be used by the mobile phone company, and the customer care operator at the phone company had no record of such a call. How was this possible? I think there could be a few different reasons why you weren't able to get a hold of the caller. You said this was an international call, therefore it makes me believe that it is a actual number, you just may not have all the information needed to call it back, country codes and such. Or it could just be your basic cause of interference.

You would be surprised how often this happens. What you need to do is get a hold of your carrier again and have them take a second look. If they say they are not able to find anything then you should suggest making a Trouble Ticket. This is a work order to have the network team look into the issues that regular CSR's dont have the access to.

Nokia N80: A Cool Performer with Enough Attitude

There are many formalities and transactions that are involved in getting a home loan for your dream home. There are many jargons or industrial phrases that you need to understand before plunging yourself in the home loan market. It will take you some time before you start understanding and responding to the industrial terms.

Pre-Qualification

Before you even apply for a home loan, your lender needs to understand if you are pre-approved or pre-qualified for it. Your home loan approval status depends upon these very terms.

You need to work out the details of your home loan with the real estate agent. He/she is the right person to give you all the information that you need. Many of us make the mistake of thinking that we are eligible to get a home loan because we are pre-qualified. This is incorrect as no one is eligible for a loan just on the basis of pre-qualification. It is only when you are pre-approved for the loan that you can actually avail it.

Pre-qualification for a home loan means that you need to give some information to the broker about your credit standing, annual income, employment history, your debt and expenses. On the basis of this information, the broker pre-qualifies you for a home loan within a price range. The lender may also give you a written statement, on the basis of this information, about your pre-qualification. This information is helpful at a time when you start looking around for a house. The broker would know the price range between which you need to find a home.

The pre-qualification is like a tool to understand the price range within which you need to buy yourself a home. Your real estate agent would know the range within which they should look for a home for you. But, the home loans are lent on the basis of pre-approvals.

Pre-Approval

A pre-approved home loan is very different in comparison with a pre-qualification. A pre-qualification is done on the basis of the information that you provide to the broker. No body verifies the information in this case. The information that you provide could be manipulated. There is no lender or financer who actually come and checks that.

Pre-approved home loans involve similar steps that are followed in the pre-qualification scenario. You provide all the information to your lender, but you also get a full approval of the information from him/her. You need to apply for the home loan first. In this case, you need to fill up an application and provide documents to support them. The credit report is then reviewed. This report is then sent for another approval to a second lender.

In case you do not receive a pre-approval, then, seek the help of your broker to consider the necessary changes. Once you get a pre-approval, it becomes very easy for you to get a home loan. Keep one thing in mind, you credit report is pulled again right before the home loan is given to you, and if your credit is in a bad condition, the pre-approval will not be able to help you.

A pre-approval saves a lot of your time in finding the right kind of home and the right kind of home loan. Your negotiating power increases with the brokers and the financers.
