Want to Choose the Best Camera Phone

What is it with these all-singing all-dancing bells and whistles cell phones these days? They'll be going to the toilet for us next! I mean, just how much more gadgetry are the manufactures planning to cram into these tiny devices? Apart from the communication function of a mobile, the only other 2 features I've used are the radio and the camera. All the internet, games, planners, calculators and other bits that they come equipped with these days, fall by the wayside with me I'm afraid. Even the camera was nothing but a novelty to begin with, but now that the image quality is improving, it just might be a replacement for the standard digital camera. But just how do you choose the best camera phone?

All of the big cell phone brands have models with cameras and they're all are telling us that theirs are a cut above the rest, but they can't all have the greatest cell phone camera out there. This is why we need as much info as possible in order to make an informed decision prior to purchasing our new camera phone.

Although the technology is improving all the time, even the best camera phone is substandard to regular digital cameras, simply because they lack the versatility and functionality of the real deal. If you simply want a cell phone camera for quick snaps shots or to record images for reference material, then you may not care too much about image quality. If, on the other hand, you want to be able to take nice photos for posterity, then you really do need to compare between the models.

So, the biggest set back with the camera phones have been with image quality. Quite often the results are grainy, not too sharp, and lack perspective. Up until quite recently, the resolution on a mobile phone camera was around 640 x 480 pixels. Now compared to the digital cameras, which literally have millions of pixels, you can quite clearly see why there is such a drastic difference in image quality.

However, that was then and this is now. The new age of camera phone is upon us and there are models available which also boast resolution in millions of megapixels. In fact, in 2005, Pantech announced an impressive 5 Mega-Pixel Mobile Camera Phone and was hailed as the first ‘real’ camera phone, simply because it dramatically enhanced quality of images for users.

There are lots of other models too which are now introducing millions of pixels into their camera phones, so choosing the best one is becoming less of an ordeal than it was say a couple of years ago. There's the Samsung i320N 1.3-megapixel camera (inclusive of flash), which is great for happy snappers. The snazzy Palm Treo 750v also has a 1.3-megapixel camera but without flash. In fact the list is endless and at the time of writing 1.3 megapixel seems to be the new standard, but with the speed of technology, that'll all change pretty soon.

The bottom line is that the higher the resolution (resolution simply refers to the number of pixels in an image), then the higher the image quality will be.

The internet is a wonderful tool for consumers of all goods and services. With the pace in which technology changes, I urge anyone who is seeking to purchase a new camera phone, to hop online first and read 'real' reviews on the latest products. This way, choosing the best camera phone at that time will a much less arduous task.

The Advantages of Pay As You Go Phone

The other name for prepaid cellular phones is pay as you go phones. Their main advantage is that you can enjoy using a wireless phone without signing a long term mobile phone contract. Having one of those pay as you go phones allows you to not worry about your monthly bill and you will be able to enjoy the freedom to pay for only what you use.

There are many people that should have pay as you go phones in order to save money. Parents should give their children such phones so that the first won't have to worry how much their children have spoken on the phone for the last month. But still they will be able to get in touch with their children with a cell phone. There are also people who don't need many minutes to talk on the cellular phone for a month. For them a long term cellular phone plan will be expensive and inappropriate. Thus, such people should get pay as you go phones as they will have a cell phone which they will use when they need to.

There is a difference between the work of prepaid cellular phones and traditional cell phones. You don't need a contract for the first. And you surely won't receive a bill at the end of the month. You only have to pay in advance for the minutes you use - it is as simple as that. While talking, money is being deducted from your prepaid credit. Of course, you can always recharge the account when you don't have many minutes left. You can recharge your account by purchasing prepaid cards for your phone. Within the pone card you will find recharging instructions enclosed.

There are many carriers offering pay as you go phone service. Some of the most popular ones are T-Mobile, Cingular and TracFone. When buying a pay as you go phone you will receive activation instructions with the phone. Activating the phone is easy and once it is done you can also charge prepaid cellular minutes.

Don’t get the wrong impression that you should buy some old cheap phone in order to use pay as you go phone service. Motorola and Nokia have taken care of offering many phones for their pay as you go clients. The choices you have include flip phones, camera phones and much more.

Currently, you can find some carriers offering prices for pay as you go phone service at about 1000 minutes for the amount of $100. Generally these minutes have no restrictions which means that you are free to use them for nationwide long distance calls, while others include no roaming. In case you are one of the many people who don't feel like making a long term commitment with a particular cell phone provider, then it is best if you consider taking advantage of the pay as you go phone services.

Things To Be Careful About When Buying A Used Cellular Phone

As technology grows at an exponential rate, cell phones are constantly being outdated and replaced with new more advanced models. In fact when you think about it there's always a new cell phone every month that you haven't heard about. So the question is, do you really need a brand new high tech cell phone? The answer is whatever you want it to be, however if you know you won't use all the features and gadgets on all the new cell phones today, then you're better off buying a used cellular phone

There are of course things you must be aware of when purchasing used cellular phones and they include everything from possible battery problems to not being able to unlock the phone because it was in fact stolen. Usually when a cell phone is stolen, the owner will call up their service provider and ask them to cancel or change their account. What then happens is the phone that was stolen will be locked and no one will be able to use it again. Here are the things you have to look out for most when buying a used cellular phone...

Caution Number 1

Check to see who the owner is. If you are buying the used cellular phone off a complete stranger, which is usually the case, ask the when and where they bought the phone from. Then ask them if they can show you the documents that came with the phone. If they can't provide these documents then don't purchase the phone because chances are it was stolen. If fact you are better off not buying a used cellular phone from a complete stranger at all, but if you do, get their details, including phone number, address and where they work. That way if you find out the phone is stolen later, you can always send the police after them and get your money back.

Caution Number 2

Does the phone work properly? This means, how long does the battery last for? Does the screen work properly and if there are other features like a camera for example, do they work? Make sure you test the used cellular phone out before you buy it. Ask the owner if you can hold onto it for a day to see how long the battery lasts for. Chances are if they won't let you test it out, there must be some kind of complication associated with it.

Caution Number 3

With the high cost of cellular phones today, there is definitely a possibility that the used cellular phone that you are considering was in fact stolen. Often thieves will steal someone’s phone, wipe the memory, or re-furbish it, and sell it to an unsuspecting victim. Or, sometimes they steal the phones directly from the manufacturer, making the overall cost of the cellular phones that much higher because of the cost of recovery. Basically, the old idea is still true, even for a modern cellular phone. If the deal is too good to be true, be wary.
